Santhosh Kumar Thamang

Santhosh is a disciple of Late Guru T K Narayan, who is direct disciple of Guru Muthu Kumara Pillai of Kattumannar Koil. Under his guru's guidance he had successfully completed certificate and diploma in bharatanatyam from the Academy of Bharathanatyam founded by Late T K Narayan. He was under gurukula vasam for 3 years under his guru where he was taught to present the quality performance and pass on the tradition in pure form to the next generation. Santhosh has done his B.com from Osmania University and with the guidance of his guru he joined M.A in Bharathanatyam in Central University of Hyderabad where he was trained under Prof. Pasumarthy Ramalingam Shastry. Where Santhosh was nurtured to understand the art of Bharathanatyam in broader aspects. Where Santhosh has learnt Crafts of stage, Lights, group performances. Santhosh has been a part of various dance ballets choreographed by Prof. Ramalingam Shastry. Santhosh also choreographed various traditional pada varnams, Keerthanas, bhajans, and thillanas. He also choreographed various compositions pertaining to dance composed by Prof. Nirmalya Guha, which includes Ganesha Sthuthi, Pada Varnams, Keerthanas, Adishankara charya's works and Thillanas. Santhosh also learned under Smt Vijji maami, where he learnt tamil pada varnams. Santhosh has been trained in carnatic music under Vidhushi Smt Kamakshi Balasubramanyam, who is direct disciple of Calcutta Krishnamurthy. Santhosh also trained under Padmabhushan Prof. C V Chandrashekar. Santhosh had learnt Mridangam under Vidwan Subramaniam Master.  At present Santhosh is under the guidance of Vidhushi Smt. Gayatri Keshavan, Director of The Academy of Bharathanatyam, Bangalore.

Santhosh's teaching methodology has been precisely inspired from the traditional approaches bestowed by the guru parampara.
